Bangladesh police arrested 12 Rohingya refugees from the Burmese settlement Rashunghat near Chittagong.
The 12 day labourers were arrested on Saturday night. No reasons have been given for the police action.
As the families are dependent on a daily income, food shortages have hit them. Some of their neighbours are trying to assist them but since they are also poor people, it has not amounted to much.
In a separate incident, a refugee has been robbed at Wycom on Tuesday. Abdul Amin from Merulla in Buthidaung was going back to Arakan after meeting his relatives in Shaplapur when criminals robbed him of everything. The incident has left him unable to go back.
