Members of the 969 movement have been telling Rakhines in Maungdaw town that the international terror group Islamic State has entered Arakan.
On Thursday, locals said that many 969 members were publicly active in spreading these rumours. They also cited an incident in Rathidaung where two militants were arrested by military.
However our sources say that the two militants arrested near Rajar Bil in Rathidaung belongs to a Rakhine independence movement.
The propaganda by 969 has however increased tensions among the Rakhines in Maungdaw.
