The arrestee was identified as Nurul Absar 22 of Rangikhali village of Hneela union, Teknaf police station, Coxs Bazar, Bangladesh.
At least 35 assailants wearing masks attacked the Ansar barrack at the camp in Teknaf and shot dead barrack commander Md Ali, looted 11 firearms and 690 ammunitions from the barrack.
Police arrested three suspects but Absar is the only one shown arrested in the case who hails from Hneela Rangikhali of Tekanf.
The news of his arrest was made public on Monday but police did not say where they caught him.
Nurul Absar described the entire attack before court. He said Myanmar nationals, a Pakistani and several Bangladeshis took part in the attack on Ansar force barrack, Police Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shafikul told reporters of bdnews24.com.
Pakistani citizen Omar Faruk aka RSO Faruk led the attack following a plan by Rohingya Solidarity Organisation.
The main plan was to rob weapons and most of these attackers had fled to Myanmar with those weapons, said the DIG.
Absar had fled with them but was caught when he re-entered Bangladesh.
A joint force of security agencies was working to reclaim the firearms and arrest those involved, he said.
According to a local from Coxs Bazar, it is a complicated and mysterious incident because the Jamuna TV news and National newspapers of Bangladesh said the arrested Nurul Absar is a real Bangladeshi and hails from Rangikhali village of Teknaf, Bangladesh as per his identity but the Teknaf and Coxs Bazar local newsmen are trying to make the arrested a Rohingya.
