Buthidaung Correspondent: An innocent Rohingya was beaten to critical injury by Border Guard Police of Younchang Outpost while coming from Upu village bazaar of Rathedaung on 6th of March 2016 at 8:00 pm.
The victim was identified as Nur Alam 36 s/o Sultan Ahamed of Younchang north-east part, Buthidaung south.
According to local source, Nur Alam is a dry fish trader and he went to Upu village bazaar to sell fish on 6th of March 2016 as usual. It took him late to set off back for his village from the bazaar that day. While he was coming from bazaar, it became night and the patrol group BGP met him on the way to his village and beat him indiscriminately causing critical injury.
However, he is alive and rushed to his house by the people found him on the spot and hospitalized in critical state in Buthidaung General Hospital for better treatment on 7th of March 2016 at 2:00 pm where some of the officials from BGP who are Burmese community came to the hospital to see the victim.
Nur Alam was beaten mercilessly by only Rakhine BGP forces who are cruel, and engaged in BGP department mixed with Burmese and other ethnic minorities, said a villager who did not want to be named.
