Maung Daw Correspondent: A Rohingya innocent man was severely beaten to injury and detained by two Border Guard Police personals (BGP) on the Maung Daw – Alaythankyaw road on 18th of Feb, 2016 at 12.30 pm.
According to an eye witnessed source, two BGP personals were coming on a motorbike by the road from Bagguna to Maung Daw and, a Rohingya man was going to Maung Daw south by the same road on his motorbike. When the both riders were crossing each other in front of Myoma Kayandang High School, the BGP willingly hit the Rohingya man down from his bike at his side.
And again, the BGP personals got down from their bike and assaulted the man indiscriminately to severe injury and bleeding from his mouth and at one stage of it they seized the bike and detained him, the source more added.
There is no sign of justice for Rohingyas in Arakan state despite the transition government NLD is now in power after defeating the military government in Burma, said a teacher from Maung Daw.
