Burma Times:By Humaira Shah 26 June 2015
Rohingya ladies— virgins and elder women who were sexually molested in several indecent and painful ways by Burmese security forces and Rakhine thugs under the open sky amid 2012 Rohingya Genocide, those who have been used as sex slaves or forced sexual darlings in army camps and have been unwillingly committing prostitution after unexpectedly falling in the hands of human traffickers in Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Pakistan and some other countries— appealed with their tearful voices to OIC to look at them with a merciful eye in the way the great personalities of OIC look at their respective related female—mother, sister, daughter, wife, aunt, etc!
We the Rohingya ladies firmly hold the rope of Allah which is Shariath law. We deeply believe that the veil (hijhab) is one of our integral parts of Iman, our religion, our modesty, our dignity and our enlightened path which will lead us to reach paradise easily and protects us from engagement in bizarre activities or phonographic movies.
According to history of Arakan, our ancestors worshipped gods before 7th century. Since 8th century, we started to embrace Islam when Arab merchants arrived in our territory known as Rohang or Arakan province.
Our ancestral land was reiteratively occupied by Tibeto-Burmans and finally it became a part of Burma since 1784 in which year our Rohingya national priceless properties— renowned religious scholars, poets, writers, politicians, tale tellers, prominent elders— were massacred by brutal Burman king Maung Wei.
“The fundamental enmity of both ethnocentric Buddhist Burmnma and Rakhine with Rohingya is only for religious faith as why we did not embrace or follow the teaching of Lord Buddha. They premeditated with several major overt and covert plots to carry out for establishment of sole Buddha land of Burma with full Burmanization in the way Israel was forcibly established.
As senior Buddhist monks used to practise ethnocentric Buddhist nationalistic politics, they very well realized that these Rohingya people will never be converted to Buddhism willingly or unwillingly. Thus, the central government with help of Buddhist radical monks has been carrying out persecution and discrimination after enacting several repressive rules against us.
Throughout day and night, fearfully, we, the Rohingya ladies humbly beg the Creator to protect us from the bizarre activities of Buddhist officials because they consider us as war loot and hate us saying Kular Ma(woman of black skinned people and Kular is a derogatory term for foreigners or Indian black skinned people in Burma ).
We were very pleased when we heard that OIC grasped the issue of long plight of Rohingya and it will play an intermediary role to release them from state-sponsored persecution in Burma.
We hear from people that our leading politicians and activists —the head of GRC Shaikh Abduallah Marouf [cannot speak Rohingya language and claims he works for Rohingya], Dr. Tahir[ who can easily get permit for repeated visit in Burma] , Shaikh Abul Shama, Shaikh Abu Salman and some handpicked members of Shaik Abdullah Marouf in particular….under OIC , and some minor independent Rohingya parties are working hard with relentless efforts for us. In reality, this kind of vocal message is just flavorless news because any delegation under GRC or OIC did not visit us yet to set free us from mischievous hands of human traffickers.
A blazing inner pain of one Rohingya sister from internally displaced camp in Sittwe who was gang-raped in 2012 state sponsored Rohingya Genocide led by President THien Sein and Rakhine politician Vet. Aye Maung–OIC appointed the former Malaysian foreign minister Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar as special envoy for Myanmar. It is regretful that OIC appointed him without prior observation that what he did for the internationally declared persecuted victims Rohingya amid his foreign ministerial term(1999- 17 March 2008). He visited Myanmar and expressed nothing over the dire situation of Rohingya because he fears that his revelation of truth regarding Rohingya will badly impact on the bilateral relationship of Malaysia and Myanmar. One of the most destructive efforts of Sayed Hamid for Rohingya is his strategy to work with Arakan Rohingya Union ARU to develop for Rohingya community to participate in the so called forced registration as Bengali in Arakan State. The forcerd registration under Pilot project according to Black Act 1982 Burma Citizenship Act is the latest digital fraud of brutal Burmese quasi-military regime led by President Thein Sein against Rohingya. Rohingya community was the citizen of Burma until 1980s whose Burmese nationality was revoked by Dictator Ne Win and it is against UDHR to re-name them by the state designed second class ethnicity Bengali.
A tearful statement of one mother of three children in Malaysia whose husband was massacred by Rakhine Buddhist extremists in 2012 Rohingya genocide in western Burma: we were well established in Burma before 2012. After the deliberate state-sponsored genocidal violence was taken place, we lost our guardian, my husband and we fled facing various troubles and finally reached in Malaysia. I encountered sexually molestation 4 times en route from western Burma to Malaysia by the brokers of Bangladesh who sent us here. However, there is not even a drop of mercy for us here in this Muslim country. We cannot work outside and also prevented from taking medical treatment by the white cards provided by UN. For non-Muslims, the life is very easy here but it is too difficult for us because we are Muslims. UN resettles to non-Muslims very earlier, but in turn of Rohingya, only reiterative verification processes are carried out which takes many years to be listed in resettlement programme.
Three Muslim nations of ASEAN— Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia— eerily kept silent and never raise the Rohingya issue in the ASEAN meetings because they dread their bilateral relationship will be interrupted. The silence of Muslim nations of ASEAN appeared it endorses the discriminatory policies and ethnic cleansing of Burmese regime against Rohingya and other ethnic Muslims.
An appeal of one Rohingya virgin who was severely injured in her private part and breast during gang-rape in Bangladesh while she came there for medical treatment from Burma: As OIC assumed to work for persecuted Rohingya victims perpetually, OIC should appoint honest, bold and experienced envoys for Rohingya to those persons who in reality think for better future of Rohingya and humanity at large otherwise any sustainable solution will not be yielded for Rohingya by coward envoys.
A devastated statement of one Rohingya virgin who was stuck en route from western Burma to Canada and face unexpected trouble in Malaysia : It is just a misfortune for Rohingya that Rohingya politicians and activists work individually or singled-minute-organizationally and the real activists cannot work properly due to lack of protection despite intermediation of OIC.
It is terribly devastated that such unwarranted activities of OIC for Rohingya appeared that OIC tactically works hard for popularity to empower OIC which dreamt to become 1st amongst the institutions across the world.
Thus, OIC should demonstrate that it works without any profitable objective from distressed communities including Rohingya community except for the sake of persecuted victims after implementing real procedures which will in fact help Rohingya people to be liberated from long state persecution in Burma.
OIC should properly observe the OIC- approved -Rohingya organizations in order to make those organizations to work for persecuted Rohingya victims in proper way without any corruption both in activities and funds provided by Islamic countries in particular.
It is very regretful that none of the Rohingya organizations was demanded ever to hold accountability for the funds provided by Islamic countries as none knows how the chief of fund raising department is too wise to misuse the funds.
As a persecuted Rohingya victim, the author, appeal to OIC to demand firm accountabilities from OIC approved Rohingya organizations because…. is it possible to swim in water after learning swimming in land? Similarly, how some abroad born Rohingyas amongst thousands who cannot properly speak their mother-tongue Rohingyalish and nought in Burmese Language, and those who never experience the brutalities of Burmese government will be able to strongly participate in field work to help Rohingya refugees without deeply perceiving the situation of the distressed Rohingya people.
