Sittwe Correspondent: A Rohingya innocent fisherman was assaulted by Arakan Army rebels in Kyauktaw Township when he was going to the river on 18th of Feb, 2016.
The Rohingya fisherman went to the river to catch fish where he encountered Arakan Army rebels and was tortured mercilessly by them. When he was unconscious due to severe torture by Rakhine community, Arakan Army rebels, they left him on the spot lying on the ground.
The villagers who went there to catch fish in the river found him in unconscious state with severe injury and carried him home. Later, he was rushed to the hospital for treatment. No further details are available in this regard.
Rohingya is seriously targeted by Rakhine community in Arakan State. The immoral intention of ethnic cleansing by Rakhine community is not erased from their mind yet although the Rohingyas always love to live peacefully in unity and reconciled state with Rakhine community and others in the country forever, said a teacher to Burma Times from Kyauktaw Township on condition of anonymity.
