The Arakan National Party (ANP) plans to contest 63 seats in the upcoming national elections.
The ANP will compete for all 34 elected seats in the regional Arakan State legislature, as well as 17 seats in the Lower House and 12 seats in the Upper House.
The ANP’s main contender will be the two national parties – – the ruling USDP and the opposition NLD.
The ANP has traditionally been opposed to the presence of Rohingya Muslims in Arakan state.
