Police arrested nine men on charges of illegal logging Yong Cong, Buthidaung.
They were arrested at around 11pm on May 14 as they loaded logs on to two boats.
The victims are Yusuf, Md Ayaz, Leru, Doila, Hasan Sharif, Amanullah, Kalaiya, Syed Azim and an unidentified man.
In a separate incident, police raided Lamba Bil of Maungdaw South on Tuesday at around 10 am and implanted a Bangladeshi SIM card on a teenager named Shaheed. He was assaulted in public until the women of the village came forward and calmed the situation down. He was released at around 1 pm after the payment of 150,000 kyats.
Another teenager, a 14 year boy Omar Farook was intercepted by BGP as he was going to a shrimp farm along the border on Tuesday morning. BGP alleged that Omar was going towards the Bangladesh border to pass on information to Rohingya activists based in that country. He was brutally beaten up and robbed of 19,000 kyats found on his person.
