Police and Hlun Htein are carrying out continuous raids in Hashurata to nab alleged attackers of Sawdeya Oo (also known as Jojeya Oo).
Tabbe Sawdeya was shot by unknown assailants last Friday. Despite any evidence, the authorities blame villagers for the attack and have carried out regular raids, arresting and torturing Rohingyas.
Three women arrested from Hashurata have meanwhile been tortured in custody since Sunday. They were arrested simply because they were the wives and mothers of men alleged to be involved in the attack on Sawdeya.
The three women have been identified as Humaira, Toyeba Khatun and Hanifa.
Eyewitnesses have reported there are two more Rohingya women in police custody but their identities are not known. They are presumed to be from outside Hashurata.
Rohingyas in the area continue to avoid their homes fearing arrest and torture by security forces.
