The Bangladesh Border Guard soldiers who were attacked by BGP were chasing after yaba smugglers in their country’s waters, according to our sources.
On Wednesday dawn at around 5.30 am, the Bangladesh Border Guard team of three soldiers were looking for a boat full of yaba tablets after being alerted to their presence.
As they were on a search mission, they asked a suspicious looking boat to stop. The boat was full of BGP soldiers who fired upon on the Bangladeshis.
The firing injured one Bangladesh soldier and another was kidnapped by BGP. The third soldier dove into the water and managed to escape the BGP.
Incidentally the yaba smuggling ring in Burma is well protected by BGP.
