BGP raided the house of a Rohingya Muslim in Furma para, Maungdaw North after Sunday midnight.
At around 12.30 am, BGP men broke into the house of Shamsul Alam and started assaulting male members. BGP alleged that his nephew Md Faislal had come into the house without taking permission of authorities.
Faisal who was present in the house protested saying that they had always travelled from the east side of Furma para to the west side without any restriction. This angered the BGP men and they further assaulted Faisal.
Later Faisal and Alam were taken to the BGP base. They also took away coffee beans and fruits that Faisal has brought as a gift. At around 3.30 am, they were freed after the payment of 400,000 kyats.
Under the laws of the country, Rohingya Muslims are not allowed to move from one area to another without permission.
