Maung Daw Correspondent: Border Guard Police (BGP) of Border Outpost of Naribil, Maung Daw under Sector no, 6 extorted money from Rohingya bus owners in Naribil without any legal ground.
“On 28th of Jan, 2016 at about 4.pm, a bus bearing A7-3046 with about 70 passengers was coming from Maung Daw Township by the road to Bawlibazar. A big DYNA vehicle owned by Rakhine community people was also coming before the passenger bus by the same road. The DYNA vehicle of Rakhine hit a cattle head of Rohingya villager on the road which dead at the spot. The incident occurred in front of BGP Border Outpost which was witnessed by BGP personals themselves but they did not catch the DYNA vehicle as it was owned by Rakhine community people.
After sometimes, when the passenger bus arrived at the spot, it was halted by BGP personals on the road and caught the driver, Nazir Ahamed and his assistant. The BGP personals of the BOP alleged that the cattle head had been killed by the bus. Alleging in false cattle head killing, BGP extorted 2, 85000 Kyats from the three share holders of the bus although they (BGP) themselves saw which vehicle hit the cattle head to death. It is an intolerable injustice done by BGP which they extorted money from the bus owners alleging in false cattle head killing despite it was killed by the vehicle of Rakhine” said a villager of the village.
