Burmese Muslim activists have distributed tonnes of rice and other relief products in Mamra, Akyab.
In a bid to improve communal harmony, the activists made sure most of the aid went to the Buddhists while a few Rohingyas were also helped.
Some monks also accompanied the Muslims during the relief operation.
Locals praised the actions of these Muslim activists saying such communal harmony could have erased tensions in the restive state.
Distrust of Muslims have increased throughout the country in recent years as Buddhist nationalists find increasing popularity.
