There have been a series of deaths in the Leda refugee camp in the past few days, according to our correspondent.
The deaths take place in face of a worsening humanitarian situation in the camp. Bangladesh government has shut down all humanitarian operations in the refugee camp carried out by Muslim Aid. Lack of safe water and the total absence of healthcare have contributed to these deaths.
A 4 month baby has died of dierrahoe on Thursday. Saiful Islam s/o Md Ilias breathed his last at around 3.30 pm.
Another 4 monthh baby, Khairul Amin, s/o Musa died at around 6pm on Tuesday. He was suffering from pneuomonia.
A 3 month baby Md Rashed, s/o Rashid Ahmed died of similar causes on Thursday.
A 6 year child Yasin, s/o Kala Miah died of dierrohea on Wednesday at around 10pm.
Besides the four children, two grown up men also died. Nazir Ahmed (55) s/o Lal Miah died from tuberculosis on Wednesday night and Sadek (50) s/o Md Ishak died from stomach problems on Thursday night.
