A group of ‘Chinese Muslims Volunteers’ are in the Akyab region where they have pledged to celebrate Eid ul Adha with the Rohingyas.
The Chinese Muslims told their Rohingya counterparts that they were disturbed by the news of persecution in Arakan state and wanted to stand beside them in these troubled times. They said they were aware the Rohingyas were deprived of making any income and as such did not have money to make sacrificial offerings.
They said it was their religious duty to lend a hand to Rohingyas.
The Chinese government is also cracking down on Muslim religious practises and state sponsored discrimination and violence towards Chinese Muslims especially the Uyghurs are getting worse in recent years.
