Remind police in Maungdaw South

A police team has been threatening Rohingyas Muslims at Andang and Kullang in South Maungdaw not to leave their villages in search for work.
The team of 12 to 15 policemen visited Rohingyas in these two village tracts over past few days and told them that they will be jailed and fined heavily if they were seen outside their designated zones.
Rohingyas are not allowed leave their zones without government permission but the threats of these policemen is further terrorising the population.
“They said that things cannot go on before. You are Bengalis and you will not leave this village,” said a resident of Andang on condition of anonymity.
Earlier many Rohingyas have been jailed and even killed for going outside their villages in search for work.
Restrictions on movement have led to a desperate humanitarian situation as work is scarce in many Rohingya areas.
