A Rohingya refugee in Malaysia is frantically looking for his family who were held hostages by traffickers on a ship.
In the first week of May, Noor Mohammad paid the ransom money to traffickers for the release of his family who were taken from Chaki para in Akyab. After the payment, traffickers said that his family would be smuggled into Malaysia in a day or two.
Noor went to sleep full of anticipation that he was going to meet his three children after many years. But the next day, the mobile phones were switched off. Some of the migrants released from that trafficking ship has also said that the family was not with them.
Later Noor heard that traffickers have abandoned the ship taking all food with them. Then Malaysian authorities allegedly pushed the ship out of their waters towards Indonesia.
Then came the news that many on board the ship including women and children have died under mysterious circumstances.
In the last week, Noor has not heard any news from his family. Fearing the worst, he has become crazy with grief.
The missing family members are his wife Zahida Begum, nine year old Noor Ayesha, seven year Noor Kolim and five year Noor Hashem.
