On behalf of The European Rohingya Council (ERC) Dr. Khubybe participated in International Peace Forum Varberg on 23-25 October, in Sweden. He shed light on historical presence of Rohingya in Myanmar, Rohingya’s presence in the parliament of Myanmar history until 2010 election, major ethnic cleansing operations such as Naga Min operation, 1982 citizenship law and so on, 2012 massacre, current situation in IDPs and elsewhere, disenfranchisement of Rohingya, the people involved in ethnic cleansing and the rise of Neo-Nazism, passing discriminatory Race and Religious Protection Laws.
He further highlighted on what 7 Nobel Laureates were saying during Oslo Conference about Rohingya’s suffering as a text book example of genocide. Finally he discussed what can be done as European governments, as civil society organizations in Europe, and as individuals to stop ongoing Genocide of Rohingya. In question and answer session, Nobel peace Laureate LeyMah Gbowee commented that international community must take serious steps to stop this genocide.
During discussion, she said that she is very concern on ongoing Genocide of Rohingya. She also requested to the international community to give serious attention on the Human rights violation in Myanmar.
