Rohingya refugees evicted from the Jhaubon area of Bangladesh are passing their days in insecurity as local miscreants find them easy targets in the open.
Since their eviction in late January, thousands of refugees are camping alongside the roads, Bengali villages or the nearby hills. They say that miscreants often under the influence of yaba harass the woman and steal their belongings.
Rohingyas have complained to community leaders but instead of punishing the miscreants they have asked them to leave Bangladesh and go back to Burma.
According to Bangladesh media, almost 35,000 refugees have been evacuated from their homes.
