An elderly Rohingya man said, “It is done frequently in Arakan state, especially in Maung Daw, Buthidaung and Yethedaung Tonwship with the aim of extorting money from the Rohingyas. It is an old tactic of extracting money from the Rohingyas by the Burmese government as regular basis but nothing else. Now the Rohingyas are facing various financial problems since they don’t have income and on the contrary they have to give money for taking photo of family and in addition a huge amount for the new born”.
