By taking a dispute between kids, a street fighting between two antagonistic Rohingya families in Ahla Thin (Alsang by Rohingya) village of Sittwe has caused some members critical injury on March 3, at about 5:00 PM.
The injured persons are known as Abdul Amin (50) years s/o Muhammad, Abdul Karim (40) years s/o Muhammad, Muhammad Shafi (40) year s/o Yousof, Dil Bahar ((35) years d/o Yousof and Dil Bahar’s husband (the son-in-law of Yousof, as well the son of Abdus Shukkor, he is from Nga Pon village).
It is known that both family members are descended from the same ancestor and Muhammad and Yousof are brothers and both family members are cousins.
According to a reliable source, the fighting began by taking a quarrel between two children of those families and later their mothers then fathers were involved in it which resulted five members from b0th families got injuries.
“All those injured persons were hospitalized where Abdul Amin and Abdul Karim got serious but no risk of lives” said the source.
Another source who closely knows both families told that both families have had a feud upon an internal issue since last August but local elders solved the problem by singing them on a bond.
An observer, who does not want to be named told that such kind of problems are found everywhere in Arakan among the Rohingya these days but unable to have a comment on whether the government agents are involved behind the evens or not.
However, it is assumed that such internal feuds are consequences of keeping Rohingya under intolerable oppressed and discrimination by the government for longtime.
