Almost 40 people, mostly women are feared dead in a ferry accident, according to our local correspondent.
The boat was making its way from the coastal city of Tangup to the state capital Akyab on Friday night. Passengers say the boat sank because it was overloaded.
There were at least 209 people on board altogether. 167 people are believed to be rescued.
Later navy led a recovery mission to locate dead bodies. 27 bodies have been recovered so far.
