More than 50 Rohingya Muslims were arrested by the military from the Taung bazar area by the military on Saturday early afternoon.
On Sunday more than 80 people were arrested by the same military battalion 552 from Buthidaung town.
They are being made to work as porters without payment.
Forced labour of Rohingyas was until recently a very common practise of the armed forces. The trend ended with the disbanding of Nasaka.
However following large scale military operations against Rakhine insurgents, the practise seems to be coming back, much to the disappointment of the Rohingyas.
Meanwhile relatives of those arrested fear that they might be used as human shields against the Arakan Army.
