Md Amin, the Aishwaramu of Rajar Bil, Rathedaung is being brutally tortured by security forces in the Kiang Dong prison.
Amin was reputed to be a government man but security forces allege that behind the scenes he has been helping Muslims. His arrest comes on charges that he facilitated the escape of six men from Kiang Dong.
Amin denies the allegation, but the police are insistent that he must owe up to his crimes.
Our sources have confirmed that the men escaped when police under the influence of alcohol relaxed their vigilance.
However it seems that the police want to shift the blame on the government collaborator.
Meanwhile the security crackdown in Rajar Bil and surrounding areas has become less intense. Most men arrested in the crackdown have bee released albeit often after severe torture.
Many men have also been brutally assaulted and a few women sexually abused in the Rathedaung crackdown.
