A gun battle erupted between rival factions of robbers near the Nayapara refugee camp of Bangladesh on Friday.
Following the gun battle, Bangladesh police arrested notorious robber Md Sadek from the area.
Sadek, a Rohingya refugee involved in violent crimes has been absconding since March when his companions attacked Ansar (auxiliary soldiers) men and freed him from Nayapara refugee camp.
The robber gang involved in the gunfight has both Bengali and Rohingya members. Locals say there might have been a disagreement over booty robbed from Leda camp in an earlier incident.
The powerful gang preys on both Bengali and Rohingya civilians, but the foreign origins of the refugees make them more vulnerable.
