Residents of IDP camps in Rathedaung have been prevented from repairing their huts by the government.
In face of heavy rain in the last few days, makeshift shelters of Cinghali and Lamar para have been destroyed. As the Rohingyas tried to cut wood for building new huts, camp authorities said they were not allowed to do that. Rohingyas did not protest fearing police brutality.
Since the last two days, Rohingyas in these IDP camps including the children have been spending the days and nights under the open sky in the heavy rain. The number of plastic sheets to protect from rain is also limited.
