Authorities confiscated 93 acres of land from Rohingya Muslims and handed them over to Bangladesh Buddhists.
The Bangladeshi families have recently started to set up their houses on lands owned by 15 Rohingyas in Fansi, Buthidaung.
Past few months have seen an increasing number of Bangladeshi Buddhists, mainly Rakhines settling in Arakan.
The initiative has been adopted by the government to balance Muslims in the Mayu Frontier Area, the only place in Burma where the religious group has a majority presence.
Those who lost their lands to the Bangladesh Buddhists are Monjur Ahmed, Noor Haq, Noor Amin, Amir Hossain, Noor Kabir, Fakirul Islam, Dulara Begum, Yasir Arafat, Anwar Ali, Azizul Haque, Abu Affar, Azizul Haque, Abdul Haque, Kamal Hossain and MD Sayed.
