Local miscreants have stopped Rohingya refugees from collecting water, according to our correspondent.
Since late January, all facilities including water supply has been stopped in Leda refugee camp as the Bangladesh government halted humanitarian operations by Muslim Aid.
For the last few weeks, refugees have been forced to collect water from neighbouring villages. Anti Rohingya sentiment is widespread in these areas and many refugees were subjected to sexual and physical harrassment as they went to collect water.
Now miscreants say that they are forbidden to draw water from the tube wells of the Bengali villages. Additionally they have buried the holes dug by the refugees to collect water. As a result, the humanitarian situation has gone from bad to worse.
