Police have arrested a man on terror charges in Kuinna para, Maungdaw South, according to our local correspondent.
Md Johar (29), s/o Ahmed Hossain was alleged to be a member of the banned group Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) and arrested on Friday.
Locals however say that Johar was arrested after he refused to work in the house of a local tabbe Md Faisal.
Faisal along with two other tabbes Master Rafique and Khaer forces villagers to work for them without any payment.
They also arbitrarily hand over people to the police on charges of conniving with media personal and activists based in the Middle East. They generally point out the educated Rohingyas who stand for the rights of their community.
Meanwhile reliable sources say that Johar is set to be sentenced for seven years for being a member of RSO.
