The Rohingya rickshaw puller assaulted by military in Akyab on Sunday night is in a critical condition as he remains deprived of medical treatment.
The man now identified as Syed Noor (27) s/o Siddique Ahmed has returned to his family in Dabaing with the help of Rohingya community leaders. However, the hospitals in the area have refused to give him medical treatment.
Rohingya patients are normally not accepted by hospitals in Arakan state. Many Rohingyas who are admitted have been murdered by medical staff.
On Sunday night, Noor was assaulted by military personal near the Rakhine village of Marmaji. Later Rohingyas in the locality took him to Dabaing in a critical condition.
