A man has been fined 300,000 kyats after BGP personal implicated him with a Bangladesh SIM card on Tuesday.
Zahid Hossain (29) s/o Jamal Uddin was stopped by BGP at Naffura, Maungdaw North. The security personal told him they had secret information he was using a Bangladesh phone.
When Zahid handed over his Burmese phone, they said that it must be checked thoroughly. One of them went out of sight and returned a minute later claiming a Bangladesh SIM card was found.
Zahid was beaten brutally and told to pay 300,000 kyats.
His father arranged the money by mortgaging a fish farming pond he owned to a local tabbe.
