Security forces raided the village tract of Hansar Bil in Maungdaw North on Wednesday.
Police and Hlun Htein forces entered the village at around midnight. At first they went to a house and fell upon a teenager and an old man, grievously assaulting both of them.
The victims are 15 year Shoshi and 80 year Abdul Hakim. Following the assault in front of family members who were confined at gunpoint, the two were tied up.
The forces then went to another house and started beating up a father and son. The victims are 20 year Akhter Hossain and 45 year Noor Hossain. They too were arrested.
After that, the security forces knocked in the house of 50 year Md Zubair. The occupants of the house panicked and refused to open the gate. In response, the Hlun Htein fired shots at the house. After persuasion by tabbes, Zubair opened the door and was immediately seized by the security forces and assaulted without mercy.
Hlun Htein personal then placed a Bangladesh SIM card in his possession and accused him of keeping in touch with IS members based in that country. The raiders also took half a million kyats kept in the house.
The five Rohingyas were then taken to base and mercilessly tortured. Zubair was tortured more than the others as he refused to open the door.
The four were released later on a payment of 250,000 kyats per family. Zubair was fined 700,000 kyats.
