Military has asked flood affected Rohingyas in Rathedaung to give back relief supplies given to them earlier.
On Sunday, military helicopters dropped relief supplies in village tracts of the Rathedaung area. When the Rakhines saw these, they went to the Rohingya villages and told them the relief was dropped in their area by mistake.
Despite pressure by the Rakhines, the hungry Rohingyas did not give back the rice saying many children in their villages desperately needed the food. Rakhine community leaders then told them the matter will be resolved by the military and they should not open the rice till then.
On Wednesday, the military called the Rohingyas and ordered them to hand the rice sacks to the Rakhine villages.
Locals are saying the initial drops could have been an eyewash for foreign donor organisations.
