Buthidaung Correspondent: A minor Rohingya boy died following the thunderbolt hit on him at Mannapara of Buthidaung on 4th of May 2016 at about 2:00 pm.
The deceased was identified as Shofi Alam 12 S/O Abul Kasim of Neeyaguing (Mannapara) ward of Buthidaung, Sittwe, Arakn State.
Source said, Shofi along with his father went to forest western side of the village to collect fire wood when it began to rain on the way. Due to heavy rain fall, both son and father took shelter under a shady tree to be protected from rain fall somehow.
Suddenly, a thunderbolt hit the tree and the minor boy died at the spot by the sparks of lighting scattered around and at one stage the father also was unconscious following the loud sound of the thunderbolt.
Later, hearing the news of the victims, the relatives rushed to the spot and carried both of them home. The father became conscious after hours and the body was buried at the village cemetery, source added.
