Natala criminals have robbed goods worth 2 million kyats from three Muslim shopkeepers in Rathidaung, according to our local correspondent.
The victims have been identified as Noor Kabir (28) s/o Nurul Ismail, Jalal Uddin (32) s/o Sultan Ahmed and Abdus Salam (45) s/o Kader.
All three are carrer shopkeepers who had gone to Kiangdong to buy wholesale products for their businesses.
As they were returning to their home in Rajar Beel, a gang of six to seven model villagers stopped them and started beating them with sticks. As they fell unconcious, the robbers took everything and went away.
Incidentally model villagers (Natala) refer to Buddhists who have been brought from outside Arakan to settle in this area for balacing out the Muslim population.
