Two more infants have died in the Bangladesh refugee camp of Leda where the government has halted all humanitarian operations.
Our correspondent says that both the infants died after drinking unhygenic water. Alongside other amenities, the government has also prevented water supplie to the refugee camp. Local villagers opposed to the presence of refugees have also blocked all kinds of water to the refugee camp.
The victims are 8 month Nurul Ismail, s/o Hakim and 19 month Zafar Ullah, s/o Aziz Ullah. Deaths of infant children from water related diseases such as dierrohea are increasingly common in this camp following the Bangladesh government decision to shut off water supplies since late January.
Medical operations have also been stopped.
