Rohingya Muslim women have began fleeing the restive village tract of Kiladong in anticipation of something bad about to happen.
There have been renewed tensions in the area as BGP and police cracks down in response to the murder of pro regime collaborator Md Sultan Ahmed. Since then all the men have fled the area.
Generally in similar crackdowns, only the men flee the village as they bear the brunt of police atrocities. However in Kiladong, the experience is different. In January 2014, a crackdown resulted in the massacre of scores of women and children in Kiladong.
The massacre was widely condemned but the government refuses to acknowledge to this day that such an incident ever occurred.
Locals say they are not expecting a massacre on such a large scale but fear some of the women might be raped or killed by security forces.
Meanwhile police brought Lalaiya, the man arrested on allegations of murdering Sultan to the murder site on Sunday. This is the third time on a row that laliya has been brought to the site. Here he was beaten in broad daylight and then his confession was videotaped.
Lalaiya has been mercilessly tortured by the police and BGP.
Security forces also raided adjoining village tracts in search of Kiladong residents.
