Police have arrested the owner of a house that was burned down mysteriously, according to our local correspondent.
Md Kashem, s/o Mobarak Ali was arrested by police after his house along with 12 others burned down at Boli Bazar, Maundaw North.
Police says Kashem set fire to his own house and 12 others to implicate anti-Muslim groups such as 969.
The 54 other members from the 13 households have been living under the open sky as the police have warned other Rohingya families in the area not to house them. Police say that as long as the investigation does not clear up, they will have to live outside as a punishment.
Since February 8, a number of similar incidents have taken place where Muslim houses burn down suddenly and the government later blames the victims for setting fire to their own houses.
The houses destroyed in the most recent fire belong to Hamid Hossain s/o Mobarak Ali, his brother Amir Hossain, Ershad s/o Noor Mohammed, his brother Syed Alam, Shah Alam s/o Md Taiyab, Tayab s/o Lalu Miah, Amanullah s/o Abdur Rahman, Noor Mohammad s/o Abu Bakkar, his brother Ali Akbar, Firoz s/o Noor Ahmed, Kabir Ahmed s/o Abdul Hamid and Rahim Ullah.
