Natala men near Lamar para of Rathedaung have once again attacked Rohingya lumberjacks as they were coming back from the hills on Sunday.
Zamir Hossain (39) and Md Siddique were on their way back to the village when a group of Natala men fell upon them. The Rohingyas were viciously beaten and kept hostage while some of the attackers went to Lamar para. Here they told locals that Zamir and Siddique had stole woods from their gardens and were accordingly being punished.
The locals rushed to the spot and found the two Rohingyas lying unconscious in a pool of blood. They negotiated their release with the payment of 300,000 kyats.
Similar attacks by Natala men have been very common in this area.
