Rakhine villagers have asked their Rohingya Muslim counterparts not to use a newly constructed road at Hojjar Beel, Maungdaw South, according to our correspondent.
A newly constructed road in the area runs between two settlements, one inhabited by Rohingyas and another by the Rakhines. However the Rakhines claim that Rohingyas are not allowed to use it.
“Eight of us were walking down the road when the Rakhines came and told us not to use it,” says a Rohingya man. “They asked us who gave us the permission to use this road,” he said.
