New York, January 18, 2016 – In November 2015, Myanmar (Burma) voted to bring the NLD Party of Aung San Suu Kyi into government. This has been widely celebrated and, in December, Economist named Burma the Country of the Year. However, with continuing persecution of minorities, especially the Rohingya, this image of reform may be only a mirage.
