A human trafficking agent based in South East Asia has recently returned to Arakan after an arrangement with the BGP.
Md Ullah, a notorious human trafficker who has sold many Rohingya Muslim woman in Thailand’s sex industry came to Nari Bil, Maungdaw North recently after seven years.
Locals fear that Md Ullah is here to facilitate further trade of women as sex slaves.
The BGP in recent times have also got more involved in the lucrative human trafficking business. They are now protecting traffickers such as Md Ullah.
Many Rohingyas are eager to escape after decades of persecution. They normally embark on a risky journey by sea to Malaysia.
Md Ullah often takes a Rohingya Muslim woman as wife and promises her a better life in Malaysia. Instead he sold them in Thailand.
