Police actvities in Longdoon para, Maundaw North is preventing Muslim villagers from going out of their village, according to our local correspondent.
In the past few days, police are going around in the area with Bangladeshi SIM card and yaba tablets. They are implicating Rohingya villagers by claiming to find yaba or Bangladesh SIM in their possesion. In reality they force the illegal products in their pockets, then start beating them asking for bribes.
On Monday night, police implicated two young men with Bangladesh mobile phones. Arif Ullah (23) s/o Rashid and Syed Karim (28) s/o Fakir Ahmed were then heavily asaulted and forced to pay 400,000 kyats.
Many similar incidents have created terror in the area and Muslim residents can no longer leave their village without police harassment.
