A Rohingya refugee was assaulted by his employer and his family thrown out in Bangladesh on Thursday, according to our correspondent.
Azim Ullah (37), s/o Ansar Ullah, a high sea fisherman in the Lomburi coastal area told his employer Hamid Hossain that he would be unable to report to work as he was feeling sick. This angered Hamid who started assaulting him.
Azim and his family were then thrown out from their home which was rented by his employer. Since the government eviction drive in the area, many Rohingya fishermen have been staying with their employers.
The family is homeless now.
