Security forces along with village administrators are creating panic among villagers in Hansar Bil, Maungdaw North with continuous raids and arrests.
Local sources say that Rohingyas in the area are arrested and implicated in false charges almost on a daily basis.
“They came to my house and said I had guests from outside the village. I was told to pay 200,000 kyats,” says Shomsu. Under the laws of the country, Rohingyas cannot have visitors from outside the area in their homes without permission from village authorities.
Another man Mokhtar Hossain says BGP accused him of holding a meeting with RSO militants. He was beaten up and forced to pay 200,000 kyats.
Many other Rohingyas have been implicated on false charges.
Sources say a local collaborator Abdur Rahman, and the Aishwaramu U Ba Sein guides the security forces.
