Tense atmosphere prevailing in Nayapara refugee camp

Bangladesh Ansar men fired on robbers as they hacked at the security forces to rescue one of their men in the Nayapara refugee camp on Sunday morning, according to our correspondent.
The incident happened in broad daylight at around 3 pm in the afternoon.
One of the robbers wounded in Ansar firing later died in the hospital.
Earlier in the morning at around 8am, Ansar arrested notiours robber Md Sadek (25) s/o Md Jalil on charges of stabbing a women. Sadek stabbed the woman Hossain Bahar (50) when she protested his illicit affair with her daughter on February 15. Since then Sadek has been in hiding but Ansar men spotted him Sunday morning and arrested him.
Later at around 3 m Ansar were transferring Sadek to police custody when a group of Sadek’s men including his brother-in law Md Rafique and close friend Hafez Ahmed sweeped on the security forces armed with sharp 0weapons. Hafez hacked at an Ansar man wounding him. In return the Ansar men fired six xhots one of which hit the attacker close to his heart.
Another wounded Rafique in the leg. However the robber got away with his wounds and so did Sadek. Hafez however died at the hospital later.
Two of the bullets hit to civilians including a children but their injuries were not fatal.
Later security personal along with CIC Jalal Uddin conmed the nearby forests but till evening no arrests have been made.
Immediately after the incident scores of security personnal including paramilitary BGB flooded the scene. They started aggressively questioning the camp populace. Fearing mass arrests, most of the refugees are staying indoors. The tense situation is likely to prevail for days.
Incidentally locals also say that the robber gang is involved with human trafficking and other criminal activities.
