Four Rohingya traders have been robbed by local miscreants in Bangladesh.
On Saturday, the four men were bringing 280 kg of mangoes from Taimbru when the robbery took place on the Bangladesh side of the border. The robbers also seized 13,500 taka in cash from the traders.
Robbery of Burmese refugees on the Bangladesh side of the border is a common occurrence since the Bangladesh Birder Guards asked local villagers to form vigilante groups to stop Rohingyas crossing over.
In this case, the victims are all small time traders residing in Kutupalong who have taken loans to run the business transaction. Now with this robbery, they have gone completely bankrupt and helpless to pay back their loans.
The victims are Kasim Ali (40), Aman Ullh (35), Noor Ahmed (29) and Md Ismail (37).
