Rohingya community leaders from Akyab held a meeting in Esparado hotel of Yangon to discuss the situation of the Muslim community. Muslims based in Yangon were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the leaders noted with concern that the overall situation of the community has gradually gotten worse with time. In such a dark hour, they mosut forget difference and work together from a common platform.
The community leaders also hoped that Rohingyas will be given the opportunity to vote in the upcoming elections. If that is the case, they said it was best that all Rohingyas vote together for a single party so as to best advance their demands.
They did not however decide which party would best represent the interests of the community.
