Authorities have asked Rohingya Muslims to avacuate the makeshift shelters at Pathorkeela Julapara, Rohang char, Akyab, according to our correspondent.
The former homes of Muslims in this area was destroyed by mobs during the riots of 2012. Since then they have been living in makeshift shelters constructed by the government. Under this arrangement 8-10 families stay under one roof.
Now the government says to evacuate the area as Rakhine Buddhists are expected to move in the area.
Rohingyas say that they might break the shelters but take the construction materials with them to build shelters somewhere else.
